FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long will I need to participate in therapy before I feel better?

Everyone’s journey in therapy is unique, but many people start to notice small, positive changes within a few sessions. CBT is designed to be a focused and practical approach, often lasting between 6 to 20 sessions, depending on your goals and circumstances.

The good news is that even small steps can lead to meaningful progress. We’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you, and I’ll be there to support you as you build tools and strategies to help you feel better. Change takes time, but each session can bring you closer to where you want to be.

How can I track my progress?

Progress is tracked by setting clear goals at the start of therapy and revisiting them at multiple intervals through out treatment to assess where you are at with each goal. This also allows us to tailor treatment to focus on these goals if need be. As well as goal setting we conduct a Minimum Data Set (MDS) at the start middle and end of therapy. The MDS are questionnaires which are used as a standardised assessment tool that measures mental health and wellbeing status.

Can family and friends be included in our sessions?

I currently offer only individual therapy therefore family and friends cannot be included.
